Older Adults

Several studies have researched how movement and balance of older people changes after learning the Alexander Technique. One pilot study (Glover et al) also uses focus group discussions to explore older people’s experiences of learning the Technique. Another pilot study (Woods) looks at the potential for Alexander teaching within a care home setting.

The Lighten up! study (no.6), was developed by Alexander teacher-researchers but uses Alexander-informed instructions, rather than lessons.
