Teacher Training Courses UK & Worldwide

Why choose a STAT-approved Training Course?

STAT Training Courses promise:

  • High quality of standards guaranteed by STAT
  • Training based on the original work handed down by F M Alexander
  • Opportunity to benefit from STAT student membership
  • Individual moderation and independent assessment offered to all student members of STAT*
  • Training leading to a qualification to practice as a teacher
  • Full STAT membership eligibility upon a STAT-Certified graduation
  • All STAT teachers are entitled to use the qualification MSTAT after their name and the STAT Collective Mark

For more information on STAT Student benefits, click here. For more information on the individual Training Courses, click on each title below.

In the last year of teacher training (post first moderation), STAT UK Student Members at approved training courses are able to offer lessons to the public (while under the supervision of their training course). These lessons are charged at a discounted rate. Please contact individual training courses if you would like to try discounted supervised lessons from a trainee teacher.

*Please note:

  • All STAT-certified graduates from STAT Approved Training Courses are eligible to apply to join STAT as a Teaching Member upon graduation.
  • The method of qualification varies between Training Courses.
    • EATS, ATTSW, and MATTS require independent assessment as a final step for qualification.
    • At all other training courses trainees are qualified by (an approved) Head of Training.
    • However, all UK STAT student members can individually opt into qualification through independent assessment.
  • Those qualifying via independent assessment from a CNHC Accredited Course can register with the CNHC immediately on qualification.
  • Individuals who do not qualify via independent assessment or from a Training Course that is CNHC accredited are eligible to register with the CNHC later in their career via the APEL process. Applicants via APEL process are required to provide evidence of a minimum of three years' teaching experience, details  of their training and continued professional development and demonstrate their teaching before an assessment panel.
  • To find out more about your eligibility to register with CNHC please contact the STAT Office on stat@alexandertechnique.co.uk

N.B. Graduates not previously registered as STAT student members or graduates from non-STAT courses can apply to join STAT as a teaching member provided they meet the standards required via a rigorous assessment procedure. For more information about STAT assessment, contact STAT office at STAT@alexandertechnique.co.uk
