Learning & Teaching

For such a long-established educational method, there has been relatively little formal academic research on the learning and teaching of the Alexander Technique. Studies include:

1. Teachers of the Alexander Technique in the UK and the people who take their lessons: A national cross-sectional survey

2. Retention of skills learnt in Alexander technique lessons: 28 people with idiopathic Parkinson's disease

3. Patients' views of receiving lessons in the Alexander technique and an exercise prescription for managing back pain in the ATEAM trial

4. John Dewey and the Alexander Technique: Lessons in Mind-Body Learning

5. The Process of Learning the Alexander Technique
