I started having Alexander lessons in 1989 with a vague hope of easing my anxiety, tension in my neck and shoulders and a possibility of improving my posture – little did I know what an amazing, enlightening and life-changing journey I had started. As lessons continued I noticed the tightness in my lower back and shoulders ease, my neck no longer creaked as I moved it, I slept better, I was less anxious and breathing became a pleasant experience – my tense and hunched posture did indeed improve! I became aware of a strength and inner peace I had never known.
This life changing experience inspired me to train as an Alexander teacher, I qualified in 1993 and I have taught the technique ever since.
My fascination with the connection of body movement and emotional well-being led me to study Psychology graduating in 2006 with a BA Honours.
I teach privately in Meads and at the Eastbourne Chiropractic Clinic, I also give introductory talks and do workshops.
