I started having Alexander lessons in 1989 with a vague hope of easing tension in my neck and shoulders and a possibility of improving my posture, little did I now what an a life changing and enlightening journey I had begun. As lessons continued I noticed the tightness in my shoulders lessened, my neck no longer creaked as I moved it, I was sleeping better, I was less anxious and breathing became a pleasant experience. my tense and hunched posture did indeed improve. I became aware of an inner strength and peace I had never known.
This life changing experience inspired me to train as an Alexander teacher, I qualified in 1993 and have taught and practiced the technique ever since. I have enjoyed supporting individuals in developing greater self-awareness, ease and balance in movement and in life.
My fascination of the connection between body movement and emotional well-being led me to study Psychology and I trained as a counsellor in 1996.
I teach privately in Crosby, I also give introductory talks and workshops.
