Richard has studied the Alexander Technique since 1984 & has been teaching the technique full time for over 35 years, he travels extensively internationally giving workshops, talks & interviews about the Technique. He has taught the Technique at many educational centres in Europe including Galway University, Limerick University, DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama (Dublin), Dartington College of Arts (Devon), Conservatorio Superior de Música de Navarra, Spain & Middlesex University (London). He has also taught at the following universities in the USA: Columbia NY, Loyola, Columbia, CMU, IUP Arcadia, and Temple. Richard has been featured in numerous newspapers & magazines including The Irish Times, The Sunday Tribune, The Irish Examiner, Cosmopolitan, Hello and Home and Country; he has appeared on television in the UK, Ireland, Croatia & Montenegro he has also been featured on BBC Radios 4 & 5 as well as many local Radio stations in Europe. He has written nine books on the Alexander Technique, posture & health which have been translated into 22 languages including French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese & Hebrew and are on sale world-wide. They haves sold over 250,000 and include Stress Relief, How to Breathe & The Alexander Workbook. His most recent book, Evolved to Move, is aimed at healthcare professionals & is due to be published in Summer 2025. Richard lives in Galway, Ireland where he is the director of the STAT approved Alexander Teacher Training College, Ireland.
