I came across the Alexander Technique when a friend trained as a teacher in the 1980s. At the time I was very impressed with the various ways he changed and developed as a result of the technique. Following a bicycle accident in 2009 I had some spinal cord restriction, and though symptoms from that mostly settled, I started to have some Alexander Technique lessons to reduce the risks of future problems. I also has a strong family history of kyphosis (“dowager’s hump”) and osteoporosis so am keen to maintain good movement and muscular integrity, especially in my back. I have found significant benefit from the Technique myself and am keen to be able to offer some of those benefits
to others.
I graduated from the Manchester Alexander Technique Training School (MATTS) in March 2025 and am now teaching the Technique on Mondays and Wednesdays from my home in Didsbury, South Manchester. I also teach in the MATTS class on most Thursdays and Fridays.
