Alexander Technique is for anyone who wants to make the best of themselves.
Aches and pains can stop you enjoying your work or leisure. In the back, wrists, arms, knees... you tend to put those twinges down to age or fatigue. You may be performing but thinking that there's more to it, that you could be better, but something is holding you back. You might have a lot on your mind, and can't seem to keep up with yourself.
Some people think that Alexander Technique is just for singers, or actors, but in fact it's for everyone.
I'm a professional musician (I sing and play guitar, saxophone and piano) and have performed here, there and everywhere (and some other songs too). I've seen first hand how musicians and technicians can acquire physical habits that result in aches and pains which affect their work. I use the Alexander Technique to overcome my limitations and to really enjoy being on stage. I also find that the Technique helps with the mental challenges of performing and working in the music business.
I also have a background in health and social care, helping people get the most from the services they use. I know how people can cause damage to themselves through harmful mental and physical habits, but I've also seen how they can improve themselves.
I'm looking forward to working with you to see how the Alexander Technique can help you remove any restraints to your well-being. I am teaching in Reading and London.
