I first came across the Alexander Technique in 1994 as a way of working with an inexplicable period of depression that seemed to be taking over my life. I was surprised that this method of so called “bodywork” was in fact one of the most mentally stimulating and rewarding things that I had ever done and I was intrigued enough to train to become a teacher. I have written about this in an online blog - “How the Alexander Technique Saved My Life.”.
After the training I was selected as one of the teachers to take part in the British Medical Journal randomised control trial into the effectiveness of Alexander Technique lessons and have been teaching privately since 1998.
I help train future teachers at The Alexander Technique School, Queen’s Park.
Additionally, in 2008 I trained as a Craniosacral Therapist at the College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy
I have studied Yang Family long form Tai Chi for 11 years at Tim’Studio and occasionally assist in classes.
