Peter trained at the Ribeaux school - he qualified as an Alexander teacher in 1989 and became a professor of double bass and Alexander at the Royal College of Music in the same year.
As a double bass player he has played mostly chamber music, in particular with The Schubert Ensemble and the Nash Ensemble, both winners of the Royal Philharmonic Society's award for 'Best Chamber Group'.
Peter runs the Alexander courses that are embedded in the UG and PG degrees at the Royal College of Music.
He co-wrote 'The Alexander technique for Musicians', published by Bloomsbury, with his wife, Judith Kleinman. The book is available in paper, Kindle and e-pub versions from Bloomsbury and Amazon. Peter and Judith collaborated with Fuensanta Zambrana Ruiz (AT teacher at the Menuhin School) to produce a booklet for school-aged musicians and tertiary students who speak English as a second language. The booklet is available on Amazon.
In July 2019, Peter qualified as a Craniosacral Therapist - CST overlaps with and is complementary to the Alexander Technique.
