I was drawn to the Alexander Technique through my interest in how our thinking and feeling affects our moving body.
I completed my training in 1984 and taught in London and Cheltenham. I moved to Germany and taught there for a few years.
I trained with Gabrielle Roth in 1988 and taught 5 Rhythms Dance intensely in Switzerland and Germany.
On my return to England, I built up my Alexander teaching practice and undertook post graduate training with Jessica Wolf (Art of Breathing) and Bruce Fertman (Grace of Sense) as well as teaching Dance Improvisation.
Over the last 15 years I have been developing a movement study practice, informed by developmental movement, Dart procedures and Alexander Technique, underpinned by my trainings in fitness, Pilates and Dance. I teach classes in person and on line I have made many short videos as resources for movement study.
I teach Alexander Technique on line and in person at my home in Yetminster and at Horton & Chalbury Village Hall, Wimborne, Dorset.
For the last 6 years I have been teaching the Alexander Technique at Bryanston School (13-18 year olds) working mainly with music scholars and teachers and have presented workshops there for a wider audience.
For the last 2 years I have taught musicians in the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra during their Easter residential.
I co co-ordinate the Special interest Group: A.T in Education involved in promoting the Alexander Technique in schools and creating a support group for teachers.
