Terry Fitzgerald EdD has been teaching the Alexander Technique since 1978.
He is a teaching member of STAT (UK) and the Australian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (AUSTAT), and has held a number of AUSTAT committee positions, including Chair.
After working initially as a Public Health Engineer, he completed a three-year Alexander Technique teaching course at the London School of the late Mr. Patrick Macdonald, who was one of F.M. Alexander's earliest trainees.
He has been actively involved with Alexander teacher education in Sydney and London since 1983, and he was Director of The Sydney Alexander School teacher training program for 11 years. He is also a highly qualified and experienced teacher of ballroom dancing.
Terry has a Masters degree in Adult Education and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). His doctoral thesis was titled "The Future of Alexander Technique Teacher Education: Principles, Practices and Professionalism": http://epress.lib.uts.edu.au/research/handle/10453/20042
Since 2008, he has worked part-time as an education researcher at UTS. He is also an accredited academic editor.
