I first became interested in Alexander Technique in my 20’s. I had no physical aches and pains but as a trained musician, I wanted to see how the technique would support me in performance. I found to my delight it supported me physically and mentally. I was more grounded and calm, also being a violinist, I was able to relieve aches and pains from playing the violin for sometimes 3 hours at a time.
Throughout my 30 years as a primary school teacher and headteacher, I also continued to embrace and take lessons in the technique and valued the support it gave me to help relieve migraines and neck pain without the need for medication.
I decided that the Alexander Technique was something I wanted to learn more about and how I could help others. I attended the Fellside Alexander Technique school in Kendal, Cumbria for 3 years full -time to gain my Society of Teacher’s of the Alexander Technique ( STAT ).
