Nicola Apel

I, Nicola Apel moved to Britain in Jan. 1990, in order to train as a teacher in the Alexander technique. I completed my first training course in Dec. 1992.

There is ongoing learning and deepening understanding, which goes along with Alexander's work. After gaining some initial teaching experience, I also experienced invaluable support through the practical skills the work offers, during my years of raising my children, and during giving birth.

Also general self development and interpersonal skills are a natural consequence of thinking and moving in this consciously informed way of being.

The beauty of this work is, that it is relevant and applicable to any aspect and area of ones life, literally, a skill for life.

Since 2008 I have been working at NESMS the North East of Scotland Music School in Aberdeen, helping people transform their lives, ease stubborn muscular, mental or emotional issues and leave behind feelings of running on the spot. I continue to work in Aberdeen

I am honored to have worked and learned alongside each one of my students and continue to be grateful and inspired about Alexander's work. The basic skills that every able person can make their own and apply to any aspect of their lives, not least is a tool to help them be sane in an insane world and to develop closer to their potential. Also, not to ignore the preventative capacity of this work, a real gift, being able to re-train ourselves as to avoid avoidable common discomforts.
