As a teacher of the deaf I first came to Alexander Technique in 2005 with back pain and concerns about my posture, both of which I seemed unable to resolve long-term.
Alexander Technique lessons helped me to understand how these were linked through habits of undue stress and tension in my body, and how I could address things with a new quality of attention and awareness I could bring to anything I undertook.
Inspired by the practicalities of balance and poise, and the application of Alexander Technique for greater ease and coordination in all the activities of living, I trained at the Brighton Alexander Technique College (with Carolyn Nicholls) and qualified in 2010.
I very much enjoy teaching, supporting people to change and find out new things about themselves. I have a private practice in Hove where I happily teach people of all ages; from those wanting self-management skills to relieve aches or pain, manage their posture, or to regain freedom of movement, to those seeking an effective way to reduce stress and enjoy an increased sense of overall wellbeing.
I deliver small group and bespoke workshops at Cornerstone Community Centre in Hove.
