In 2002, after years of intermittent back pain, I heard about the Alexander Technique and decided to try some lessons. This technique was very different from the things I'd done before in the quest to improve my back. It involved me looking at how I used myself in all that I did, it was something that I had to actively participate in and to learn to be responsible for the health of not just my back but of my whole self. It was a revelation - my back trouble started to improve and I felt a greater sense of well-being on all levels - so much so that I trained to be a teacher and qualified at the Manchester Alexander Training School (MATTS) in 2007.
I now work in private practice for 1-1 lessons, and also work with acting students at The Manchester College on the degree course and with young musicians at Chetham's School of Music.
Talks and workshops are available on request.
