My first Alexander lessons in 1976 were life changing and the technique has been with me ever since. For many years before training to teach I continued with lessons, some classes, and attended inspirational workshops. My job was in classical music recording, then after marrying and having a family I taught clarinet, having originally trained as a musician. Finally I trained at the Constructive Teaching Centre qualifying in 2016, and have been teaching regularly since.
I have worked with drama and music students, amateur musicians and people of all ages from many walks of life with a variety of issues. I visit the CTC frequently and work with current students and post graduates, gaining from the continuing contact with them, with experienced teachers, and the refinement of the training course. I attend workshops on relevant topics, exchange work with other teachers, have regular Alexander lessons and read from the ever-growing wealth of articles and books about the technique.
My interests are making music, playing tennis, the countryside and travel.
I came to the Alexander Technique because of anxiety and stress, and back pain. AT has helped me and I am glad to be able to pass this on to others. I enjoy teaching and find it enlightening, stimulating, challenging, rewarding and fun. Every lesson is an opportunity for both pupil and me to learn and discover what the Alexander Technique can bring.
I teach in and around St Albans where I have lived for 27 years.
