Trained in New York (Tom Vasiliades) and London (Anthony Kingsley), Anna's approach to Alexander Technique has broad roots. But the most important aspect of the work for her is to seek a still centre, and respond to all of life from that quiet place. This is carried into her work in spiritual accompaniment, and also in her creativity: whether music or movement, art or words, the source and the goal is always to be real, natural, responsive, sensitive, curious, and delighted! Alexander Technique has given Anna a concrete, embodied approach to a healthy and health-promoting lifestyle, touching body and emotions, and integrating all of the self.
Anna's own route into AT training was through back pain/slipped discs, so she has real personal experience of the life-changing possibilities of this work: it is a skill to learn, which changes the body - its movement and pain patterns - and gives tools to manage episodes of increased physical challenge. AT has given hope!
Anna has a specialist interest in Parkinson's Disease. She has experience of working intensively as a Speech and Language Therapist in this field, and seeks to integrate Alexander work with support for people with Parkinson's.
