For over 25 years, I have experienced for myself the many health and wellbeing benefits of learning the Alexander Technique. Initially I just loved the feeling of being lighter, freer and more evenly balanced after a lesson. But I soon realised its potential as a practical and highly effective life-long skill I could learn for myself to help make any activity easier, from sitting at a computer, to pregnancy, and even singing and public speaking!
Eventually I decided to do the 3-year, full-time training course at the Brighton Alexander Technique College to become a fully qualified Alexander Technique teacher. Now teaching, and seeing its impact on clients, the Alexander Technique still never fails to fascinate and surprise me. It has become an integral part of my life and I am always looking to develop further my Alexander Technique knowledge and skills.
I have a background in education and training and continue to work with local businesses as a personal development trainer and facilitator alongside my Alexander Technique teaching. I also love performing and perform regularly with a comedy improvisation troupe. I am a long-standing member of the local Toastmasters speakers club where I mentor others through their public speaking challenges, and for many years I sang in choirs. Not surprisingly, as an Alexander Technique teacher, I have a special interest in working with people wanting to improve and enhance their speaking and performance skills.
