Onetime session

Authors - The Not Your Usual Bookclub runs online every two weeks. It's open to everyone - all teachers, pupils and friends. There's a small charge of €6 a session or €20 for the first 4 sessions (live and recorded).
We hope you can join us for one or all of the sessions! Following in UK time zone. 

  • 14 March from 9 am with Judith Kleinman & Sue Merry + Vivien Mackie
  • 28 March from 6 pm with Malcolm Balk + Robin Simmons
  • 11 April from 8 am with Jonathan Drake + TBA
  • 25 April from 6 pm with Richard Brennan + Rebecca Nettl Fiol & Luc Vanier

This is sessions number 1 of Season 3 with Judith Kleinman & Sue Merry at 9am + Vivian Mackie at 10am (UK and Ireland time Sunday 14 March)

So it's 10am for Germany, Italy, & other Central European Time (CET). USA times will be: EST: 4am, CST: 3am, MST: 2am, PST: 1am.

We will start meeting Judith Kleinmam who will share her experience with writing "Alexander in Secondary and Tertiary Education" and Sue Merry who will talk about her book "Alexander in Primary Education".

In the second part of the session we will have the pleasure of meeting with Vivien Mackie, a master Alexander Technique teacher and a cellist who studied with Pablo Casals. Vivien will talk about her conversations with Joe Armstrong captured in their book "Just Play Naturally"- an account of Vivien's cello study with Pablo Casals in the 1950's and her discovery of the resonance between his teaching and the principles of the Alexander Technique.

After each talk, there will be a Q&A session with the authors. You can also have an informal chat during the breaks in the breakout rooms. Bring your cup of tea and catch up with your friends and colleagues or meet new pals! If you can't attend, please feel free to send your questions by email, we'll ask them for you and you can see the reply in the recording.
