Description
Explore ways to sit and move more comfortably
Come and discover how you can learn to sit and move around more freely and easily, even whilst working for long hours.
This small group course is designed to let you develop your awareness and discover more about your habits of body use and how you can begin to change them. Through experimentation and observation, you will be able to gain awareness of habits that may contribute to aches, pains and stiffness. You will learn some self-help skills designed to reduce tension and discomfort during your daily activities.
Students learning the Semi Supine Procedure
You will also be introduced to the Semi-supine Lying Down Procedure that you can start practising straight away. Using this regularly can help you calm yourself and ease problems such as back pain, stiff neck and shoulder pain.
Course Content
Through observation, gentle movement exploration, games and discussion, you will gain some self-help skills you can use throughout your life. I can help you learn how to be calmer and more comfortable in your body, reduce backpain and strain, plus enhance your wellbeing. As this is a small group, you will be able to experience some hands-on work.

“I highly recommend (this course) for anyone with back, neck or joint pain, or poor posture, “text neck” etc. learn to release tension held in your body. The body keeps the score, often through accumulated tension from stress. Hilary is a great teacher. Learning AT with her was life-changing and I still benefit from it almost a decade later. Appreciate my body a lot more since working with her.” Pascale Scheurer
