Mrs Kay Cady
Kay Cady is a self-employed teacher of the Alexander Technique and works on a one to one basis at her practice in Denbury. She also delivers group sessions in Alexander Technique for Learn Devon and has spent time teaching at the Totnes school for teachers of the Alexander Technique. Kay worked as a teacher trainer at South Devon College (SDC) for 13 years, during which time she was Director for the SDC delivery of the Exeter University Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE and CertEd [FE]).
Kay has a Certificate in Education ( Exon) [FE] and Masters Degree in Education (Exon).
Kay's own decision to learn the Technique was the result of suffering chronic headache, backache and stress related illness over a number of years, and finding no relief from a wide range of medical and alternative treatments; the Alexander Technique taught her that if she looked after herself she could be free from pain. She is a member of the Complementary and Natural Health Council.
Kay specialises in
• helping people to develop confidence in speaking to groups
• positive aging
• rehabilitation from accident and replacement hips/ knees
Kay has a great interest in embedding Alexander Technique in Education.
"The Alexander Technique has greatly improved my quality of life. I am passionate about my work and hope to help people to understand that the pain they suffer may be something that is linked to how they live their lives and that it is possible to change".
