My background is in General Nursing and Public Health Nursing, Health Visiting. I have worked full time in the NHS for 32 years. I am also a musician, I play piano and violin, sing in choirs and am learning the harp.
As a hospital nurse I experienced sciatic back pain from all the heavy lifting. By the time I was in my 40's I had RSI in my right arm and shoulder and was finding work increasingly difficult. I had heard of AT but did not know what it was. I started having lessons out of curiosity and my first lesson was a light bulb moment!
I was immediately on the road to improving my RSI situation. Many other benefits followed; improved breathing, increased confidence, emotional release, and more.
I decided to leave my full time NHS work and train to be an AT teacher in 2013. I have always been passionate about health promotion and health education and felt that AT brought together all my interests, a philosophy for life that I was in tune with.
Now establishing my teaching practice I am keen to introduce the Technique to NHS staff through the Staff Well-Being forum. I also enjoy working with singers and musicians and will be developing a series of workshops for performers and 6th form music students.
I teach privately at home and also have a base in an Osteopath Clinic. I look forward to teaching anyone who is interested to learn more about this wonderful work that is life changing on so many levels. Interest in Parkinsons and MS , hypermobility
