Nadia Kevan
Nadia Kevan is English. She studied classical and contemporary dance. Since 1973 she has been involved internationally as a dancer, performer and artist. She qualified as an Alexander Teacher in 1987 in Denmark, became Co-Director of a ATVD recognized Alexander Teacher training course in 1994 and director of her own training course in Cologne (Germany) in 2000. Since this time she has devoted much of her teaching and research into the training of a new generation of Alexander Teachers. She now lives in the Netherlands where she and her husband Ron Murdock are directors of their Alexander Teachers Training course in Nijmegen.
In 1993 she was appointed Professor of Movement Studies/Body Awareness at the international Folkwang University of Arts in Essen. In the past 20 years Nadia has integrated the Alexander Technique in to the professional training, at bachelor and masters degree level, of dancers, actors, instrumentalists, singers, theater directors and dance pedagogues as well as teaching performing artists in state theaters in Germany.
After a serious accident in 2007 she came to experience the powerful affects of energy medicine and spiritual healing and trained for 3 years in the Usui Method of Reiki. Since 2010 she practices as a Reiki Master/Teacher.
Nadia also offers a two-year teacher’s program for non-professional dancers to learn to embody and practice dance as an activity of deep psycho-physical transformation, which she calls “Dance of Life.”
