I am an Alexander Technique Teacher approved by the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT). My interest in The Alexander Technique (AT) spans more than 20 years. During that time I have had regular lessons in AT and attended numerous courses on both AT and related subjects. I completed the 3 year full time teacher training course in 2013 at the York Alexander Technique School.
I have a successful private practice in Pocklington in the East Riding of Yorkshire (workshops are generally held in the Yorkshire area and often in Beverley or Hull) and provide 1:1 AT lessons, group Alexander Technique introductory workshops, and various therapies to people with a wide range of issues. However, musicians (especially harp players), dancers and people of retirement age (particularly therapists) are particularly welcome as I share common interests!
I have an eclectic mixture of other skills, for example, I retired in 2015 from the NHS where I worked as a Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in Persistent pain. I am a practitioner of a number of complementary therapies (such as CranioSacral Therapy), and taught/performed both dance and keep fit (amateur and professionally). I therefore bring a unique multi-faceted perspective to my Alexander Technique practice.
