Bridget was first attracted to the Alexander Technique by one of FM Alexander’s famous sayings
‘If you stop doing the wrong thing the right thing will do it’s self’
Like many people she thought if there was a problem something always needed to be ‘done’ about it. Yet the above quote seemed to suggest another option, one of non-doing rather than doing, of allowing rather than forcing.
It was her fascination with that idea in particular and the wide applicability of the technique that lead Bridget to decide to train as a teacher.
Before training as an Alexander Technique teacher Bridget worked in Mental Health Services for over 30 years. Starting off in in-patient and community services she later worked in research, training and service development.
In her spare time Bridget spends many an hour walking her young springer spaniel. Staying active and healthy are big priorities in her life. She is also an avid reader and likes to take time out to explore new topics such as wine tasting and philosophy.
