My first qualification was as a Physiotherapist, later specialising in childbirth. I worked in the NHS for 13 years until family life took priority and later had the joy of being birth partner to my daughter when my grandson was born, 9 years ago.
I am also a pianist and have taught piano for 30 years.
I came into the Alexander Technique shortly after my 50th birthday with the intention of engaging in a practice that would sustain me into my middle and later years.
After my training I spent a year bicycling from Denmark to Greece while I applied the Technique for myself.... with a fully laden bike and over a huge variety of terrain, I cannot imagine how I would have fared without such a deep form of self-care..... in all kinds of situations and meeting so many challenges.
It has also transformed my practice as a performing musician and piano teacher.
I love the Alexander Technique and am happy to share the inspiration of it with the people who come through my door. There is a beauty and a peacefulness that is hard to define, but which for me is at the core of the practice.
