Brita was introduced to the Alexander Technique when working as a journalist in Stockholm, 1980. Wanting to explore the technique in a deeper way after attending a residential course, she returned to London and enrolled in the 3-year teacher training at ATA, graduating in 1984. Brita runs a private practice in central London and Old St. She also gives group classes and workshops (including in companies), has taught in Sweden and Singapore, and currently teaches actors and musicians at the City Lit. She has been involved in training teachers since 2001, and since 2014 is Head of Training at the City Alexander Technique School in London.
Brita has served as a Council member and Chair of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT), and is a director of the Friends of Alexander Technique. She is co-author of Alexander Technique for Pregnancy and Childbirth (Gollancz 1985).
