Ongoing class for A.T. teachers, postgraduate students, trainee teachers, potential trainee teachers and experienced students

Ongoing session

MATTS offers a special weekly opportunity for professional development at the "Thursday Class" specifically designed for teachers of all levels of experience to meet and work in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

The class is part of the Manchester Alexander Technique Training School (MATTS) and offers:A friendly and supportive environment for teachers

  • CPD hours for new teachers (including the option to attend as a post-graduate student)
  • A traditional training environment
  • A lovely tea!
  • The class is free to teachers, unless you opt to attend as a postgraduate student.

Regular teachers include Peter Bloch (director of MATTS), Malcolm Williamson (the Director of MATTS 2001-2017), Alex Proudfoot, Liz Hulse, Janet Pinder-Emery, Gillian Thorndyke, Gillian Pierce, Sue Fleming, Pete Robinson, Jenny Fox Eades, Annalisa Faenza, Andy Moorhouse, Karen McCarthy, Charlotte Woods, Andrea Hughes. Dan Parr, Sallie Bancroft - and many more. And most weeks we are visited by other teachers from this area and from further afield.

The class runs on 35 weeks each year (see dates here). Teachers and students are welcome to attend as and when they wish, without notice. Students new to our classes are requested to check with me before their first visit.

All teachers are warmly invited to visit on any class day; however, MATTS Thursdays generally provide as much attention and support for teachers as for students, offering an exceptionally friendly and supportive environment for teachers at every level of experience.
